ajaxCFC small fixes

I just updated the project files to include the following fixes:

  • replaced the /exec/method after the CFC call with get or post vars because it was being misinterpreted by some web servers
  • Forced ColdFusion debugging to stay off for ajax calls because they were breaking the JavaScript response.
Thank you Steve and Tony for your help.

Rob, downloaded this latest package and works great! I've already developed an entire application for JVM monitoring using your libraries and it went without a hitch. Looking forward to more features. Btw, I didn't see anything in the documentation about error handling. Is there an interface in ajaxCFC for this, or planned for the future?

Steve, great to hear that… I wouldn't mind checking out your app, although by looking at your blog, it requires JVM 1.5, and CFMX7.0.1 ships with 1.4.2.

I do apologize for the documentation, though, I have plans to improve it, but time is a scarce resource right now. Anyways, answering your question… There is a basic built-in error handler that catches CF errors and alerts the user with JS; you can intentionally break one of you functions and check it out. I was not planning to allow extending it, but I clearly see now how this can be useful.

I'll add it to my to-do list, and it will probably be out by mid-end next week.

Keep the feed-back coming, it's the best way to deliver to the community what they want.

Yes, the app's a JVM 1.5 monitoring tool since that's what I use (and many others are upgrading). Mainly I wrote it for myself and others I work with for monitoring our applications, but I'll be releasing the code to the public when it's done. I'll send you a pre-release quick peek via email
