AjaxCFC & jQuery need Rey Bango

We all know, and if you didn't, you do now ... Rey Bango is a jQuery evangelist, now part of Ajaxian.com, and long time user of AjaxCFC ... Rey and I have previously discussed adding him to the AjaxCFC team, so I'm proud to announce, he's in ... Rey's first task will be to add jQuery 1.1.4 to the AjaxCFC build, which will go into the RIAForge repo. Some people have updated it manually, but it belongs in the core distribution as well ... jQuery 1.1.4 has massive speed improvements over 1.1.3 and 1.1.2, which is the latest in AjaxCFC's distro. I'll fix a couple of memory leak problems with the DWR version and release it soon, hopefully next week. Welcome Rey and stay tuned.

+1 - with that kind of turn around, I'm pretty sure the public "why isn't he bloggin" comments really will only be once in a lifetime!

bah! Mission accomplished! I got him back on the stick. Signing up for getting AjaxCFC up to jQuery v1.1.4 was totally worth it. :)

Rey, good to hear that you're officially on the AjaxCFC team! That and the Ajaxian thing... man, you must be pretty busy! ;o)

Ha! It's payback for bugging him to blog more! We are soon going to have to clone Rey so he can manage all these projects :) jQuery rocks! Glad to see it incorporated into AjaxCFC!

Awesome news! JQuery 1.1.4 is much faster, I've replaced the previous version everywhere I can and so far I have noticed significant speed improvements as well as less errors in Firebug. I can hardly wait to see what improvements/additions you guys will make to an already great AjaxCFC (grid?). Thanks for maintaining and improving this project, IMHO this has been very valuable to the CF community! Now that Ray Bango will be helping with some of the work load I'll bet we will see some new MG:U sample code in the near future also?

Thanks Again for the hard work!

@Chris: Thanks man! :)

@Jim: Dude, I can't believe he totally turned this on me! Rob's just too sharp. ;)

@Robb: jQuery v1.1.4 is awesome and v1.2, which is right around the corner is going to be even better. We may hold off on updating AjaxCFC to jQuery v1.1.4 until v1.2 comes out especially since jQuery UI will be released at the same time. I'll chat with Rob about it.

So Rey and I already started moving on this. I moved AjaxCFC to AjaxCFC.com and created a trac project for it. Rey blogged about our immediate plans: http://www.reybango.com/index.cfm/2007/8/30/Rob-Go...

Bingo Bango! You go boy! Congrats. Why weren't you more outgoing like this @ ediets? Those were the days...you still have tape marks from being tied on the tree?
